Install the Kowalah Agent in Microsoft Teams to give your team an always-on AI expert directly in channels and chats.

Admin setup

A Teams administrator needs to install the Kowalah app once for your organization.

Go to organization settings in Kowalah

Sign in to app.kowalah.com, go to Settings, and find the Integrations section. You’ll find the Teams installation link and app package there.

Install the app

Your Teams admin installs the Kowalah app from the provided link or by uploading the app package to your Teams admin centre. Once approved, it becomes available across your organization.

Confirm installation

The Kowalah bot is now available in Teams. Your team can start using it in channels, group chats, and personal conversations.

Individual user setup

Once the app is installed by your admin, each user connects their Kowalah identity the first time they interact.

Mention @Kowalah

In any team channel or chat, type @Kowalah followed by a question or request.

The first time you mention Kowalah, it will ask you to link your Teams identity to your Kowalah account. Follow the provided link to sign in. This is a one-time step.

Start using it

Once linked, you’re set. Mention @Kowalah in any conversation to get help.

Where it works

  • Team channels — visible to channel members
  • Group chats — visible to chat participants
  • Personal chat — private 1:1 conversation with the Agent
Use threads in team channels to keep longer conversations contained. The Agent tracks thread context for follow-up messages.

What to expect

  • First message: ~20 seconds while workspace context loads
  • Follow-ups: 3-5 seconds with context already available
  • Typing indicator: Shows while the Agent processes your request
