Admin setup

A Google Workspace administrator needs to approve the Kowalah app once for your organization.

Go to organization settings in Kowalah

Sign in to app.kowalah.com, go to Settings, and find the Integrations section. You’ll find the Google Chat installation link there.

Approve the app

Your Google Workspace admin approves the Kowalah app. Once approved, it becomes available to all users in your organization.

Confirm installation

The Kowalah bot is now available in Google Chat. Your team can start using it in spaces and conversations.

Individual user setup

Once the app is approved by your admin, each user connects their Kowalah identity the first time they interact.

Mention @Kowalah

In any space or conversation, type @Kowalah followed by a question or request.

The first time you mention Kowalah, it will ask you to link your Google identity to your Kowalah account. Follow the provided link to sign in. This is a one-time step.

Start using it

Once linked, you’re set. Mention @Kowalah in any conversation to get help.

Where it works

  • Spaces — shared workspaces where your team collaborates
  • Direct messages — private 1:1 conversation with the Agent
  • Group conversations — visible to all participants
Use threaded replies in spaces to keep longer conversations organized. The Agent tracks thread context for follow-up messages.

  • First message: ~20 seconds while workspace context loads
  • Follow-ups: 3-5 seconds with context already available
