# Set up in ChatGPT

> Add the Kowalah plugin to ChatGPT from the plugin directory, sign in with your work email, and start using Kowalah's 12 skills in your chats.

Kowalah is in ChatGPT's plugin directory. The plugin bundles the Kowalah connector with the same 12 skills as the [Kowalah Plugin for Claude](https://docs.kowalah.com/plugin/overview.md), so you can read your operating model, diagnose and redesign processes, keep track of your AI estate and outcomes, find accelerators and raise opportunities without leaving ChatGPT.

> The Kowalah listing in ChatGPT's plugin directory

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Sign in with your work email address.** Your email domain decides which Kowalah organisation you join. If your company already works with Kowalah, you join its organisation. A domain Kowalah doesn't recognise starts a new, empty organisation of your own.

## Add the plugin

**1. Open the listing**

Open the [Kowalah listing](https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6abf60fccbc881919c2fea78a8056f5f), or search for **Kowalah** in ChatGPT's plugin directory.

**2. Add it and sign in**

Add the plugin and connect it. ChatGPT takes you to Kowalah to sign in. Use your work email address. If you don't have a Kowalah account yet, signing in creates one.

**3. Ask your first question**

Start a chat and try:

```text theme={null}
Use Kowalah to tell me who I am in our organisation, what my role lets
me see and change, and what's waiting for me.
```

The `kowalah-setup` skill checks the connection and tells you what your account can see.

> [!NOTE]
>
> On a ChatGPT workspace plan, your workspace admin may control which plugins people can add. If you can't find or add Kowalah, ask them to make it available.

## What's included

The same 12 skills as the Claude plugin. They switch on by themselves when the conversation fits.

| Skill | What it's for |
| - | - |
| `kowalah-setup` | Connect Kowalah and see what your account can access |
| `programme-review` | Coverage, constraints and whether work in flight is aimed at the gaps |
| `programme-views` | Dashboards, decks and written updates from your programme data |
| `process-diagnostic` | Where a process's cycle time really goes, and what's never been measured |
| `process-redesign` | Take a process from as-is to to-be, side by side |
| `quality-bar` | Acceptance criteria, gates and monitors for AI steps |
| `ai-estate` | Your AI tools register, shadow AI, licences and renewals |
| `my-ai-tools` | See your own AI tools and share them with the register |
| `outcomes` | Record and verify the value AI has delivered |
| `spot-opportunities` | Find where AI could help in your own work |
| `raise-opportunity` | Check what exists, score an idea and submit it |
| `scheduled-tasks` | Set up a recurring Kowalah update |

## What it can and can't do

The plugin uses the same connector, tools and permissions as Kowalah in Claude. Your role decides what you see, and your place in the operating model decides what you can edit. Kowalah asks before it changes anything, and it never deletes your programme records or the processes in your map. See [Available tools](https://docs.kowalah.com/plugin/available-tools.md).

When you connect any app, ChatGPT may share relevant chats and memories with it to give it context. You can manage this or disconnect Kowalah at any time in ChatGPT's settings. See [Data flow](https://docs.kowalah.com/security/data-flow.md) for what Kowalah does with the data it receives.
