# Prompt library

> Prompts that get the most from Kowalah in Claude and ChatGPT: status updates, accelerators, raising and triaging opportunities, running a discovery, and working your AI Operating Model.

These prompts are written for Kowalah inside your AI tool: the Kowalah plugin in **Claude** or **ChatGPT**, or the Kowalah connector on its own. Each one asks Kowalah for something it can actually do with your organisation's data, so you get answers about your programme, not general advice.

Not connected yet? Start with [Connect Kowalah to your AI tool](https://docs.kowalah.com/get-started/connect-your-ai-tool.md).

## Start here

Five prompts that work for anyone, whatever your role.

**1. See what Kowalah can see for you**

```text theme={null}
Use Kowalah to tell me who I am in our organisation, what my role lets
me see and change, and what's waiting for me.
```

**2. Get an update**

```text theme={null}
Use Kowalah to give me an update on our AI programme. Lead with what's
changed and anything that needs a decision from me.
```

**3. Check before you build**

```text theme={null}
Is there already an accelerator in Kowalah for summarising customer
calls into CRM notes? Show me how to get it in the tool I use.
```

**4. Find where AI could help you**

```text theme={null}
Help me find where AI could help with my own work. Ask me about my week,
then check Kowalah for anything that already exists before suggesting
something new.
```

**5. Raise an idea**

```text theme={null}
I've got an idea for using AI in my team. Help me raise it with Kowalah:
check it hasn't been done, test it against our vision, and score it
before you submit it.
```

## Prompts by role

> **[Everyone](https://docs.kowalah.com/plugin/prompts/everyone.md)**
>
> Updates, accelerators, raising ideas, answering a discovery, your training, your AI tools, logging a win.

> **[AI leads](https://docs.kowalah.com/plugin/prompts/ai-leads.md)**
>
> For admins and core team. Run a discovery, triage the backlog, take the shortlist forward, review the programme.

> **[Process owners](https://docs.kowalah.com/plugin/prompts/process-owners.md)**
>
> Read the map, diagnose a process, redesign it, set the quality bar, build your model from documents.

> **[Security reviewers](https://docs.kowalah.com/plugin/prompts/security-reviewers.md)**
>
> For infosec, data protection and IT. Review the connector and plugin for approval, and fill in the checklist.

## How to get good answers

> **Say “Kowalah” in the prompt**
>
> Your AI tool has lots of tools and connectors switched on. Starting with "Use Kowalah to…" makes sure it reaches for your organisation's data instead of answering from general knowledge. With the plugin installed, the skills also switch on by themselves when the conversation fits.

> **Use reference numbers when you have them**
>
> Kowalah understands its own identifiers, so "What's happening with OPP-0142?" or "Give me the status of PRJ-0007" goes straight to the right record. A name or a rough description works too, it just has to search first.

> **Read the summary before you say yes**
>
> Kowalah asks before it changes anything: raising an opportunity, triaging a batch, editing a process, recording an outcome. It shows you what it's about to do first. Check it, correct it, then confirm. For a batch, such as shortlisting ten ideas, it shows you the whole set before making any change.

> **Your role changes the answer**
>
> Admins and core team see the whole programme and every opportunity. Members see the work they're a stakeholder on and the opportunities they raised. Everyone can read the whole operating model, and what you can edit there depends on where you sit in it. If a prompt returns nothing for something you know exists, it's usually a permission, not a missing record. See [What your role changes](https://docs.kowalah.com/plugin/available-tools.md#what-your-role-changes).

> **Skills, slash commands and Claude Code**
>
> The Kowalah plugin in Claude and ChatGPT includes the same 12 skills, such as `process-diagnostic`, `raise-opportunity` and `programme-review`. You don't need to remember them; the prompts on these pages trigger them. To call one directly, type `/` in Claude and pick it. In Claude Code the skills are namespaced, for example `/kowalah:programme-review`. See [Kowalah Plugin](https://docs.kowalah.com/plugin/overview.md).

## By department

A starting point for each function. Each one finds the friction in that team's work, checks what Kowalah already has, and only then suggests something new.

> **Sales**
>
> ```text theme={null}
> I run a sales team. Use Kowalah to check our accelerator library for
> anything that helps with deal reviews, proposals or call follow-ups.
> Then ask me where my team loses the most time each week and tell me
> which of those is worth raising as an opportunity.
> ```

> **HR and people**
>
> ```text theme={null}
> I work in HR. Use Kowalah to show me the people processes in our
> operating model, who owns them and how much of each is AI-assisted
> today. Then help me pick the one where AI would make the most
> difference to employees.
> ```

> **Finance**
>
> ```text theme={null}
> Use Kowalah to walk me through our month-end close process. Where does
> the time actually go, and which steps have never been measured?
> ```

> **Operations**
>
> ```text theme={null}
> Use Kowalah to show me the slowest process in Operations and where its
> handoffs are. Is the problem the work itself or the waiting between
> steps?
> ```

> **Customer service**
>
> ```text theme={null}
> I lead customer service. Use Kowalah to find accelerators for drafting
> responses and summarising tickets, and tell me whether anyone in our
> organisation has already recorded an outcome from using AI here.
> ```

> **Marketing**
>
> ```text theme={null}
> Use Kowalah to show me which AI tools Marketing is using, including any
> that aren't on our approved register, and what each one is used for.
> ```

> **Legal**
>
> ```text theme={null}
> I work in Legal. Use Kowalah to check which of our AI tools train on our
> data or don't have a DPA in place, and which renew this quarter.
> ```

> **IT**
>
> ```text theme={null}
> Use Kowalah to give me our systems register: what each system is, who
> owns it, how we hold it, and which processes depend on it. Flag anything
> unowned or unsanctioned.
> ```

> [!TIP]
>
> Want something more tailored than a prompt, such as a skill built around your own deal process or month-end checklist? Raise it as an opportunity and your AI lead and Kowalah team can take it forward.
